The American Board of Wound Medicine and Surgery (ABWMS) certifies physicians in wound medicine and surgery. The Board supports voluntary, periodic certification by examination for physicians actively practicing in this field.
ABWMS certification provides formal recognition of the specialized scientific knowledge and clinical expertise required to practice wound medicine and surgery. Through its certification examination, the Board establishes and assesses the entry-level knowledge considered appropriate for physicians seeking certification.
