The American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS), founded in 1985, is a professional medical organization dedicated to advancing cosmetic surgery through education, training, professional development, and a commitment to patient safety.
A cornerstone of AACS is its Certified Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship Training Program, which provides qualified surgeons with intensive, hands-on postgraduate training in cosmetic surgery. AACS offers both General Cosmetic Surgery and Facial Cosmetic Surgery Fellowships through approved programs across the United States.
The 12-month General Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship provides extensive surgical experience, requiring Training Fellows to complete a minimum of 300 cosmetic procedures, including experience in facial, breast, body, and dermatologic cosmetic surgery. The Facial Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship provides concentrated training in cosmetic procedures of the face with a minimum of 125 facial cosmetic procedures.
AACS Fellowship opportunities are available to qualified physicians from a variety of surgical specialties, including General Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Otolaryngology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Plastic Surgery, and other eligible specialties.
AACS membership provides physicians at every stage of their careers with access to continuing education, professional resources, networking, mentorship, and opportunities to connect with a multidisciplinary community of cosmetic surgeons.
