Association of Surgical Technologists

The Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) is the oldest and most widely recognized professional organization representing surgical technologists and advancing the surgical technology profession. AST supports surgical technologists throughout their careers by providing continuing education, professional resources, advocacy, networking, leadership development, and opportunities to become involved at the state and national levels. We promote high standards of education and practice, strengthen awareness and recognition of the profession, and help members stay informed about issues affecting their work and the future of surgical technology. Through our members, State Assemblies, volunteers, educators, and industry partners, AST builds a strong professional community and helps ensure surgical technologists have the knowledge, skills, and support needed to provide safe, high-quality patient care.
